Fine Art & Print Framing

Framing that protects the art as carefully as it presents it

Limited editions, watercolors, and heirloom prints framed with conservation materials and museum-grade glazing, in Vancouver, WA and the Portland metro.

Light and acid are patient. Given enough years, cheap framing will yellow a mat, fade a print, and quietly ruin a piece you thought was safe on the wall.

Good conservation framing is invisible until you need it, and by then it's too late to add. That's why we start every fine-art project with the piece's future in mind: acid-free materials that never touch the art with anything harmful, reversible mounting that a future framer or conservator can undo, and glazing chosen to hold back the UV light that does the fading.

Not every print needs the full museum treatment, and we'll tell you honestly when it doesn't. But when a piece matters because it is signed, original, or simply loved, the difference between framing it right and framing it cheap is the difference between an heirloom and a disappointment.

Levels of protection

Matched to the piece, not sold by the frame

01

Considered Framing

Acid-free matting and quality glass for open-edition prints, posters, and decorative pieces, a clean, lasting frame at a sensible price.

02

Conservation Framing

Reversible archival mounting, 100% cotton-rag or alpha-cellulose mats, and UV-filtering glazing. The standard for signed limited editions, watercolors, and pieces you intend to keep.

03

Museum-Grade Framing

Museum glass with near-invisible anti-reflective coating and maximum UV protection, sealed archival packages for originals and high-value works you never want to see fade.

Framing is part of the artwork's provenance

Collectors know it and artists insist on it: how a work is framed affects how it's valued. Reversible, archival framing keeps a piece in original condition, the state that appraisers and buyers pay for. Tape, dry-mounting, and acidic mats do the opposite, often permanently.

Bring in your limited editions, original paintings, antique prints, or that one piece you'd save in a fire. We'll frame it so the next generation inherits it exactly as bright as the day you bought it.

Fine art framing questions

What is conservation framing, and do I need it?

Conservation framing uses acid-free, reversible materials and UV-filtering glazing so nothing in the frame damages the art and light does not fade it. If a piece is signed, limited-edition, original, or simply irreplaceable to you, it is worth doing.

What is the difference between UV glass and museum glass?

Both filter damaging UV light. Museum glass adds a near-invisible anti-reflective coating, so the glare disappears and you see the art, not the room reflected back at you. It is the top choice for fine art and dark, richly colored pieces.

Can proper framing protect the value of my art?

Yes. Acid-free, reversible mounting keeps a piece in original condition, and UV glazing prevents the fading that quietly erodes value. Poor framing practices such as tape, dry-mounting, and acidic mats can permanently damage a work and its worth.
